Committees are working groups made up of Village Trustees who are assigned to help oversee and manage specific areas of village operations. While final decisions are made by the full Village Board, committees allow trustees to focus on particular departments or issues, gather information, and bring recommendations to the board.

Each committee is typically made up of two or more trustees and may work directly with department heads or the public to address concerns, review policies, or plan future improvements.

Current Committees and Assignments

Parks Committee
Responsible for matters related to park maintenance, improvements, and public recreation.

Assigned Trustees: Robin McFarlin, Suzzette Coffey, Mike Ren , Marshall Brown

Fire/Police Committee
Oversees issues related to public safety, including police and fire department operations, equipment, and staffing needs.

Assigned Trustees: Robby Chitwood, Mike Ren

Zoning/Ordinance Committee
Reviews and recommends changes to village ordinances, zoning regulations, and land use policies.

Assigned Trustees: Mark Phillips, Marshall Brown

Grants Committee
The Grants Committee is responsible for identifying, researching, and assisting with the pursuit of funding opportunities that support the Village’s growth and long-term goals. This includes state and federal grants for infrastructure, public safety, parks, and community development.
