The Village of Cambria is seeking dedicated residents to serve on the newly established Police Merit Board. This essential body provides critical governance and oversight for our Police Department, ensuring a merit-based system for appointments, promotions, and disciplinary proceedings in accordance with Illinois law.

The Board consists of five members serving staggered three-year terms. The composition includes one current Village Trustee, two individuals with professional law enforcement experience, and two community members. All applicants must be residents of the Village of Cambria and committed to maintaining the highest standards of impartiality and integrity.

We invite interested residents who wish to contribute to the professional excellence and accountability of our local law enforcement to apply. Applications must include a cover letter stating your interest and why you would be a good fit for the Merit Board, along with a resume that includes references.
